Applebee's 2 for $20 Menu Explained

The 2 for $20 deal is the simplest math on the Applebee's menu: two people, two full entrées, one shared appetizer, twenty dollars. It's built for a low-key dinner for two, and for years it's been the cheapest way to get a complete sit-down meal at the chain.
| What you get | Price |
|---|---|
| 2 entrées + 1 shared appetizer | $20.00 |
How the deal works
You each pick one main from a dedicated 2 for $20 entrée list, then choose one appetizer from a set selection to share. Everything comes from a fixed sub-menu — you're not choosing from the whole restaurant menu, but the eligible list usually covers popular plates like grilled chicken, pasta, sirloin and a burger or two.
A few things worth knowing before you sit down:
- It's per two people. The price is for the pair, not each.
- Drinks and dessert aren't included. If you want to finish with something sweet, add from the dessert menu separately.
- The line-up isn't universal. Not every franchise runs the exact same eligible list, and some markets price the promotion slightly differently (you may see a "2 for $22" or "2 for $25" in higher-cost areas).
Is it still the best value?
For two people who both want a main, yes — it's hard to beat a full entrée each plus a starter for $20. If you're dining solo, the Classic Burger or a couple of picks from the appetizer Sampler will usually come out cheaper than a single 2 for $20 share.
